GREEK SCHOOL PROGRAM
The mission of the Greek School Program is to introduce students to the many aspects of Greek language and culture and to provide a special service to parishioners of Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church of Washington, DC. The wide range of courses offered, all levels of Greek, allow students to get fully immersed in the richness of Greek history, literature, and civilization.
My name is Eleni Athanasakis, I was born and raised in Crete, Greece. I moved to the U.S.A. in 1993 and later on I started a family. I chased my dream of becoming a teacher and I obtained my Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education and my certificate in Teaching Greek as a Second/Foreign Language from University of Aigaiou. I’ve been teaching the Greek language since 2009 in Greek schools in the DMV area and joined Saints Constantine and Helen Greek school in 2011. I've worked with children of all ages and I have enjoyed every moment of it. I speak three languages, Greek, English and Spanish. I am actively involved in many Philanthropic organizations and the local Greek Orthodox Parishes.
